Privacy policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

This policy explains what Mise (“we”) collects and how it is used when you visit mise.digitalchaos.dev. Mise is a recipe organizer for saving, scaling, and sharing recipes.

Information we receive

When you choose Google sign-in, Google provides your account’s stable Google identifier, verified email address, and profile name. Mise uses these details to create and maintain your account. Mise does not receive your Google password or access your Gmail, contacts, files, or other Google services.

Recipes you save may include a title, description, instructions, servings, preparation time, category, ingredients, amounts, and units. Recipes are private unless you choose the public sharing option. A public recipe can be viewed by anyone with its sharing link and displays the author name associated with your Mise account.

You may optionally upload a profile photo. Mise resizes and crops it to a square JPEG before storing it with your account. The photo appears beside your name on public recipe pages and in Community, so it is visible to people who can view those public recipes. You can remove the photo from your account page; deleting your account removes it as well.

Mise uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. The cookie is HTTP-only, secure on this HTTPS site, and expires after seven days. Session records are held in the service database and are periodically cleared after expiry.

How information is used and shared

We use account information to sign you in, show your profile, store your recipes, provide sharing, protect the service, and operate administrator functions. Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on the server hosting Mise. Google processes sign-in according to Google’s own policies. The hosting and infrastructure providers process data as needed to run the site.

We do not sell personal information. The current site does not use third-party advertising trackers or payment processing. No paid advertising or ad-free purchases are currently offered through Mise.

Retention and your choices

Your account and saved recipes remain in the service while the account is active. You can delete an individual recipe from its menu or delete your account from your profile menu. Account deletion removes your account, recipes, and active sessions. Administrative audit records may retain an email snapshot where needed to preserve the history of administrator actions. Session records expire and are cleaned up automatically.

You can choose whether each saved recipe is private or public. You can end a session by signing out. You may remove Mise’s access from your Google Account’s connected apps page; this does not by itself delete the Mise account.

Security and changes

Mise uses HTTPS, restricted server access, and session protections. No online service can promise absolute security. We may update this policy as the service changes; the date above identifies the latest version.
